Sometimes all you need to celebrate your engagement is a weekend away in one of the most romantic cities in the world.

Just a week after getting engaged in London, these two packed their bags for Edinburgh and decided they wanted to document this exciting season of life with an engagement session. Their proposal was still fresh, the excitement hadn’t worn off, and there couldn’t have been a better place to soak it all in than the winding streets of Dean Village.

With its stone cottages, ivy-covered buildings, cobblestone pathways, and the peaceful Water of Leith flowing through the middle of it all, Dean Village feels like stepping into a storybook. We wandered slowly through the village, stopping whenever beautiful light spilled between the buildings or another charming corner caught our eye. There wasn’t a strict plan or timeline. Just two newly engaged people enjoying a weekend together and celebrating the beginning of their next chapter.

Those are always my favorite sessions. They don’t feel posed or rushed. They simply feel like memories.
